To give a better understanding about Export Import for students, on 20th January 2016, School of Business Management – International Business Management (SOBM-IBM) Program from Bina Nusantara University, get the opportunity to visit Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) in Tanjung Priok and Schenker Company in Soekarno Hatta Terminal Area. There are 30 students from IBM who gets the opportunity to join this event. This event is giving the students an opportunity to see in person, the real activity of export and import, since usually they only learn it in the class and read it through textbooks. The 1 day visit to these two main portals of export and import in Indonesia, gives students an overall view of export and import procedures in real life situations.


In this opportunity, Mr. Zaein as the Public Relations of JICT explains that JICT covers a total of 100 hectares and is the largest container terminal in Indonesia. JICT handles more than 2.2 million Twenty foot Equivalent Units (TEU) per year and is strategically located at the industrial heartland of West Java. To optimize service and support the growth of the national economy, JICT has embarked on a number of expansion projects since 2008, including the addition of quay and yard equipment, the implementation of a sophisticated terminal operating system and the first Auto gate system in Indonesia Port. JICT is accredited to ISO 9002 standards and aims to provide excellent services through the dedication of their experienced workforce and the application of the latest cutting edge technology. Besides that, JICT is the pioneer of 100% sterile Terminal that endow with security, safety and clean in every line of its environment, JICT provides quality services to more than 20 shipping lines with direct routes to more than 25 countries and is committed to providing fast, efficient and reliable services 24 hours a day, all year round.


On the same day, IBM visitation is continued to PT. Schenker Petrolog Utama which is located on Soekarno Hatta Terminal. On this opportunity, IBM Students which accompanied by several lecturer from IBM: Mr. Rianto Nurcahyo and Mr. Idham Sofyan, are given a detailed explanation from Mr. Rinaldi, Head of Human Resources from Schenker Company.
