DOING BUSINESS IN JAPAN: EDUCATIONAL AND BUSINESS PERSPECTIVE

On 25th October 2016 International Business Management from School of Business Management and International Office of Binus University are honored to have Prof. James R. Hoadley from Georgia Institute of Technology, to share his experience about doing business in Japan, from educational and business perspective.

Japanese culture are very strong and gives a significant impact on Japanese business negotiation process, for example, the culture of bowing down when they meet others is still valid on their business meeting. One of the reason why their culture is empowering people to follow it, is because Japan usually has a high bargaining power compared to its business partner.

There are some positive business cultures from Japan that we can learn, for example: their politeness in giving and handling business card, they are hardworking people, ambitious and never give up, not only that they are very punctual and discipline, Indonesian people can learn a lot from them, and there are a lot of other information that Prof. James shared in this seminar, hopefully we’ll meet him again in another opportunity, thank you very much Prof. James, see you when we see you again.
